Avera & Smith Supports Alachua County Sheriff's Teen Driver Challenge

GAINESVILLE, Fla., Sept. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The law firm of Avera & Smith, with a 60-year history in the region, continues its record of support for the community by promoting an Alachua County Sheriff's Office program to help teens become better, safer drivers.

"The Alachua County Sheriff's Office is undertaking a great service to the community with this program to make teens safer drivers," said Mark Avera, partner at Avera & Smith. "It's particularly on our minds this time of year with school underway and many inexperienced teen drivers out on our roads."

The Teen Driver Challenge provides no-cost, intensive two-day training sessions scheduled nearly every month throughout the year. Avera & Smith is supporting the program with a wrap-around bus advertising campaign in Gainesville, including important messages to promote the Teen Driver Challenge and combat texting and driving, encourage seatbelt use and minimize tailgating.

"It is immensely satisfying to know we are saving the lives of teenagers and educating them with lifelong driving skills," said Alachua County Sheriff Sadie Darnell. "It is the number one positive program in Alachua County and I get tremendous support from citizens."

The Teen Driver Challenge has become so popular that this year's classes are fully-booked through December. Class spots will be available after the first of the year. Visit the Sheriff's Office site http://www.alachuasheriff.org/programs/teen_driver.html for more information about the program. The Avera & Smith ads will appear through the end of the year and may continue in 2015.

Avera & Smith has represented Floridians for more than 60 years with a legacy of personal service and genuine care for clients and the local community. Visit www.avera.com for more information.
